lynsey weatherspoon loves you all!

What an amazing response to the LivingSocial deal last weekend! I hope many of you were able to take advantage of it. Thanks to everyone from the bottom of my heart for your support. The greatest form of advertising is word of mouth, and thanks for speaking so highly of me. Also, thanks to those who forwarded the newsletter, changed their Facebook status to advertise the deal, and sent tweets to their Twitter friends. You guys rock!

As an appreciation to you all and for those who didn’t have a chance to purchase the deal, I’ve decided to extend it one more day. That’s right! You still have a chance to take part of this deal! The deal will close on Monday, January 17th at 11:59PM. Just click the ‘Buy Now’ button below. You can purchase up to three sessions. If you know of anyone else that missed out, just send them the link to this blog entry. Also use the contact option above if you have any questions. Have a great day and thanks again!

Interpretation of Image

As we close out 2010 to bring in 2011, it’s only appropriate that I start off with something new. 2010 has been the best year yet, and there’s room for even better times. The accomplishments have been overwhelming, and I hope you all have succeeded in your own right. But here’s an opportunity to start working on your next unforgettable project. My next big thing debuts January 1, 2011 in short film format.

Thanks so much to Juwan Dickerson of Dirty Lens Films for writing, directing, and producing this short piece for me. It was a true honor to be the first person to be in front of this director’s lens. Look for more films and photography from this guy in the near future. Thanks for those who have been encouraging me and pushing me to be the best I could ever be. Many thanks to you guys for viewing my work and giving feedback. Without it, this would all be a dream. Walk into 2011 with an upright spirit toward your dreams guys. Here’s to an awesome new year and even better life. Happy New Year!

A New Perspective

There’s something about being a photographer that keeps me on my toes. The thrill of the profession is amazing, and so are the people that I’ve met along the way. Meet Lindsey Griffen. She knew me before I knew her, but what brought along this friendship is photography. We enjoy the fact that we can learn from each other. And Lindsey has taught me so much in a short time. Not only is her passion for photography strong, we have the same name. That makes us kindred spirits.

See, photography is more than just picking up your camera and shooting various people and scenes. It brings forth connections, formal and informal. It has a way of drawing you into the lives of people you never thought you’d meet. Photography is a house built for those who want to make it their home; a comfort zone. I never want to become comfortable in my current position as a photographer because it is a detrimental spot to all artists. Lindsey gave me a new perspective on what needs to be done. In her words, “Take one step at time.” It is a phrase we often here, but we never understand it until the right time. Thanks Lindsey. You’re the best.

Enjoy.

P.S. Here’s a short video of Lindsey making faces.;)

Art Beats + Lyrics comes to Birmingham, Alabama!

Some of you may hear me talk about some of my favorite urban artists, such as Dubelyoo the Art Bishop, The Occasional Superstar Fabian Williams, and Goldi Gold. I’ve had the privilege to meet these great folks over the years and they are the best people to sit with and just talk about art with. But sometimes, you miss your own friends and family from home. So it was great to have Art Beats + Lyrics to come to my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. It’s always a treat to share my work with my everyone, but it’s an even better feeling to have your own show love. It was a great turn out and hopefully you guys will see it when it hits your town. Enjoy.

Hate that I missed it! I love the art that they have at those shows.
